Each of these books provided truth and wisdom for my journey…
I live in the most creative house imaginable. Wait, I said that wrong. I live among the most creative people imaginable. The house itself is just our canvas. My dear husband and my dear son are artists- they build, engineer and design with amazing creativity and accuracy.
And that makes me the luckiest homeowner I know! Lucky, because if I have an inkling of something I want in my house, it’s enough to inspire them to help me make it so.
And that, sweet readers, is what has happened in my house recently. We’ve all been inspired (by one of my inklings) to build a water feature that shows off my rock collection (sorry son, I mean our rock collection). It is not finished yet, but it’s in the final ‘testing’ phase…which means soon it’ll be cleaned and polished and ready to welcome all our visitors!
Here is a sneak peak at construction…this is just the ‘draft’! (#SoExcited)
(Y’all, don’t stop at the top, get to the 5th picture. The last one is the sweet pic!)
Far and wide, y’all. It reaches far and wide, in case you didn’t know. Your joy, when you are overflowing with it, reaches way out beyond you. Way out. So get to work gathering your joy habitually so that you build a big groove in your soul that fills with joy daily.
Collect it off of tree limbs in breathtaking views, gather it up from the songs playing on the radio, breathe it deeply into your body from the fresh morning or night air, catch it with laughter watching your favorite show, do all the things that bring you joy and then GO OUT INTO YOUR COMMUNITY AND SHARE IT, FAR AND WIDE- it goes farther and wider than you can imagine. Do your one little part.
“Finding Yourself” means exploring anything and everything. Get into things; join the group; dive in; raise your hand; speak out; sing; dance; move; go forth- anything that gets you involved in anything that seems remotely interesting to any part of you.
Eventually, some of those things will just stick to you. You will find yourself going deeper down the rabbit hole of that thing, whatever it is- and then you’ll know you’ve found a little piece of your soul in that thing.
Then, keep doing more things to find more of yourself, until your life is full of little pieces of your soul being lit up over and over again.
Go forth and taste life, y’all!
