HSP’s are a rare breed. We need permission to be the way that we are, and we need to give that permission to ourselves. Highly sensitive means that we process input more intensely and that we take things deeper into ourselves, in other words we get invested in things quickly and we have a more difficult time detaching from things we are invested in.
For me that has played out lately to mean that transitioning between things (activities, environments, conversations, and situations) is difficult. I linger on things and I put off starting new things.
One thing I have not put off starting though, is this new thing – a retreat designed by and for Highly Sensitive People. Its working title is the Highly Sensitive Living Retreat, but I reserve the right to change that as we get closer to the retreat itself.
It will be a time and a place that we set aside to get together and to claim permission to be the way we are….unapologetically.
We will gather, share our particular finger print of sensitivity, explore creative ways to proclaim it, and we will let down our guard a little bit and trust that the people in the room with us ‘get it’. I need that community and I hope you will decide to be a member of it with me.
