Erasable Dream Journal?

I know it sounds crazy; plus who would want to erase a dream?! But hear me out because I LOVE this process so much.

Originally, I purchased the Rocketbook Reusable Notebook to use for work. I wanted a place for handwritten notes, lists and brainstorming that I could also link to my digital documents to easily access whether I had the notebook with me or not. But then, once I got it home, I realized it was going to serve a different and more meaningful purpose as well- and I realized I was going to need more than just one (lol)!

There are some higher priced digital notebooks on the market that have more functionality and that don’t need to be erased with cloth and water, but my budget is better suited to the Rocketbook, because I needed to see if I was going to use a hybrid notebook enough for it to be worth the investment. And with the Rockebook coming in around 20 bucks, it was easily try-out-able! One of these days I may upgrade to something more complex but for now I am so so happy with this upgrade from paper journals.

How it works-

Here’s the deal. The notebook pages are scannable and they work with the FriXion erasable pens (which I have been using for years already because they’re great pens and completely erasable and they last forever). After you write on a page, you can then scan it using the Rocketbook app on your phone. And you can configure the settings in the app to automatically send each scan to specific places (Dropbox, Google Doc folders, email, text, and more)! Last, after the page has been uploaded to its new digital location, you simple wipe the page clean with the cloth and some water. That’s it.

How it holds up to use-

After trying it out for a couple of weeks, I bought several of the different sizes and variations because i realized how many different ways I could use it in my life (including for dreams which I’ll get to in a minute)! The pages wipe completely clean, they look and feel just almost exactly like regular paper except their a smidge waxier feeling; but honestly I love the smoothness. The ink dries quickly enough. If I’m writing to the end of a page, I do have to wait about 10 seconds before turning the page to let the ink dry so it won’t smudge or bleed, but I can use that time for one of those mindfulness pauses anyway so it’s fine :)

And, I have found that the notebook holds enough pages that I only have to wipe pages clean every couple of weeks! The only wear and tear I really sense in it is that the spiral binding is cheap-ish and there is some slight wear around the holes in the paper where the binding passes through.

Why I love it so much-

I am a visual thinker and my to-do lists look more like mind maps. With this notebook I am totally free to let my creative visual mind pour thoughts out in any form imaginable! Not only do I draw lines and circles and dividing lines all over my lists (see the pics down below), but I also get to color code using the wide selection of frixion pens. And at the end of the week (or two or three, remember it’s a whole notebook at my disposal), I can scan it, upload each page or set of pages wherever I want, and even add tags for finding something buried deep in the pages later! Are you starting to realize the dream journal potential?

Erasable Dream Journal-

IF you have seen my course Dreams An Introduction to the Hidden Self, then you’ll know that I have cracked the code for tracking your dreams across time and topic; and also seeing how dreams are not just connecting to waking life but to each other as well.

The dream journal master system I use can be upgraded even more when you employ the rocketbook notebook! Right now, dream apps are the latest shiny new thing vying for dreamers’ attention. Using AI, they offer you a place to log your dreams and offer you a bot generated interpretation. They also claim to tag your symbols for you and show you trends about your dreams and journaling habits.

But, when I have tried them, I find that they’re actually less helpful than if I were wondering about the dream myself and making my own connections. They are easy to use, I’ll give them that but because they quickly spit some content back out at me so quickly, I don’t value any of the feedback. I quickly glance over it and move on with my day. It actually leads to less inner resonance, not more!

Enter the Rocketbook Notebook. My friends, I can use and reuse the pages for dream after dream after dream. For a couple of weeks, I can enjoy handwriting my own notes and use my master tracking system (and I can even color code it!); and when I am done or when I run out of space, I can simply upload it to my pre-set google drive or dropbox folders, complete with digital tags so I can easily find dreams buried in the scanned pages later!

Imagine the possibilities!
